Jazz Boricua

Jazz Boricua fuses Puerto Rican musical heritage with world-class jazz. With a vast, original, and distinctive repertoire that blends the full spectrum of Puerto Rican sounds with jazz, the group is composed of its founder and leader Ángel David Matos (piano), Ricardo Pons (flute/sax/clarinet), Georgie Rodríguez (bass), and Héctor Matos (drums). Their award-winning album Danzzaj was named Best Latin Jazz Album by the Century Music Awards and praised by Latin Beat magazine for their “profound reflection on the interaction between a classic Caribbean musical form with that of the North American jazz music; definitely something very special and truly deserving of the name jazz Latino.”
